Train the Voices

Part of sanity is training the voices. The voices in your head.

I don't care where you fall on the psychiatric spectrum...we all have voices in our head. Some are louder, some softer; some are kinder, some are crueler; some profound, some mundane; some are more abstract, and some are alarmingly specific. We tell ourselves things every day:
"This looks great on me!"
"What was he thinking?"
"When am I finally going to tell her?"
"Nobody is going to believe this."
"Nobody is going to believe me."
"Chocolate or vanilla?"
"Nothing ever fits right."
"Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming."
"I have to remember to buy milk."
"God, I hate it when he does that."
"God, I hate it when I do that."
"I wish I could get away with that."
"How the hell did no one see that coming?!"
