Taking a ride
No class today due to Faculty Development Day, so what did I do? I biked to campus and back.
There was a break in the extraordinarily rainy weather today, with some gentle, warm sun beaming down. So I grabbed my bike and decided to see how biking to school might be in warmer weather. Took off on my usual car route, and I swear I got there just as fast since most of the roads between me and school are throttled roads (15-20 mph with speed bumps).
I head across campus to where I usually park, then around the far side of campus and back through. Took a slightly different path home to catch some Halloween decorations.
Not a long ride, but a good test, and it will be a breeze to bike there and back when weather allows. I still need good panniers for my ride to bring my laptop, lunch, and other regular backpack contents. It stayed sunny for another hour after, and I wish I’d risked it to take a longer ride, but I wasn’t dressed for rain when I set out, so I came right back.
Did a little homework, played some Occulus, then took my (usual migraine-induced) nap. Then food prep for dinner and now snuggling puppies until cooking later.
Good day.
