To me dance is the expresion of the soul through movement. Just like when I see my Dad paint: The Dancer creates the masterpiece, the Dance itself is the canvas and the Movement is the brush strokes. Dance is movement with a purpose of expression. No, one does not need music to dance and transmit the "message". I don't know if that makes any sense, my mind wanders a lot!
